The band came together in this line-up in 1995. Pete and Kevin had already played in several past bands together including Kingfisher 484, Fast Relief and V8. We started regular Tuesday rehearsals and were soon gigging around London with a mixture of rocking blues classics and original songs. Band HQ was at Thames Works near the Hogarth roundabout in Chiswick. Early venues included local pubs like the John Bull - Chiswick, the Red Lion - Brentford and late night Soho club The Acoustic Cafe.
When we had enough songs together we spent 2 days at Fair Deal studios in Hayes recording "Emotional Honesty" our debut album (1996). Locomoto Records was set up as an independant label to release the CD. Some very good reviews appeared in Blueprint and Blues Matters magazines. We also supported Albert Lee at The Bottomline in Shepherds Bush. Copies of this album now change hands for hundreds of pence!!
In 1998 TSB staged a Tribute to Cream show at The Grey Horse in Kingston. This live set was recorded and later released as a CD, the night was a great success. After many gigs around town (the Fusilier and Firkin-Camden was a regular one) we took up a fortnightly jam night residency at The Grey Horse in Kingston (2000). This built into a very successful night with musicians and music fans from all over London attending.
In 2003 we released our 2nd original album "Deep South". By this time we had our own recording equipment and recorded at Thames Works, taking a lot more than two days. Again copies are available (in the foyer!). Both albums and matching T-Shirts have sold well at gigs to those that wanted them-those that didn't ended up winning them in the raffle anyway!
In 2005 we played a ZZ Top tribute night at the Grey Horse in Kingston. The cacti, lights, skulls, lights, beards, lights and music were all captured on DVD. A promo video for the Deep South track "Won't do you no harm" is also included on this (copies available...). Many thanks to Tony and Skunk Grafike for this. After 7 years at The Grey Horse we have gone weekly with the jam nights and moved to the Watermans Arms in Hersham. This pub has a great sounding music room with stage and a pleasant atmosphere. We're there every Tuesday , so come on down....it's still the best night of the week!
